Gunpowder gas removal device for barrel of gun

The powder gas removal device removes the gases from the barrel (2) of a large-caliber gun (1). A piston compressor (6) is fitted to the gun. This uses the barrel recoil energy to fill a pressure container (12) or to compress the air in it. The compressed air is then used to blow the gunpowder gases out of the barrel. The pressure container is connected to the breech (15) via a controllable valve (13) and a compressed air line (14).
