PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst layer to efficiently remove harmful substances in an exhaust gas by using a catalyst and to provide temp. controlling method of the catalyst layer. SOLUTION: The catalyst layer 1 is used to decompose harmful substances in an exhaust gas and consists of catalyst units 2 with heaters 3 attached and temp. sensors 4. The temp. sensor 4 to control temp. is preferably attached to each catalyst unit 2 in the exit part of the exhaust gas. When the number of the catalyst units 2 increases to make arrangement of the sensors difficult, keeping and controlling temp. of plural catalyst may be carried out with one temp. sensor. As for the temp. sensor, a thermocouple or the like can be used. |
