PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a modified layer adaptable for a living body through fixing of a living body polymer on the surface of a molded article, by contacting a living body polymer soln. with a surface of a polymeric molded article followed by irradiation of a highly intensive ultraviolet laser on the contacting surface to generate a photoinduction reaction. SOLUTION: The living body polymer is represented by a protein, a nucleic acid, a polysaccharide, etc. A material which has an excellent adaptability for a living body such as alginic acid, a dextrin, a polypeptide or a biomembrane material is pref. applied. As a solvent to dissolve the living body polymer enumerated are water, a fluorinated alkane compd., an alkane, an ether, an alcohol, etc., which do not absorb wavelengths of ultraviolet laser and are not easily decomposed by light irradiation. The content of the living body polymer in the soln. is pref. on the level of 0.5-10 wt.%. Pulsing of an ultraviolet laser enables an effective progress of the reaction. Irradiation with a light intensity of about 2-50 mJ/cm<2> /pulse is preferable. An excimer laser at a wavelength of 400 nm or less is suitable as a laser. |
