<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To burn collected particulates under comparatively low temperature atmosphere by providing a heater heating gas containing oxygen when the particulates caught in a trap member are burned and a light oil supply device jetting light oil into the trap member. SOLUTION: An exhaust gas passage 12 of a diesel engine 10 is branched into a first branch passage 16A and a second branch passage 16B, and particulate traps 18A, 18B are arranged in each of them. In each trap 18A, 18B, trap members 20A, 20B catching particulates in exhaust gas, electric heating type heaters 22A, 22B, and fuel injection pipes 24A, 24B are provided. The air which becomes a supply source of oxygen required for combustion is heated by the heaters 22A, 22B at the time of reproduction of the particulates collected in each trap member 20A, 20B. Moreover, the oxidation reaction of particulates is done effectively by fuel (light oil) jetted by the fuel injection pipes 24A, 24B to increase the combustion efficiency.</p> |
