PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing N-substituted acrylamides by which the subject compound is produced in high yield and the product is extremely readily isolated by using a fluorinated sulfonic acid-type ion exchange resin as a catalyst when reacting acrylonitrile with an alcohol. SOLUTION: Acrylonitrile is reacted with an alcohol in the presence of a fluorinated sulfonic acid-type ion exchange resin in the method for producing N substituted acrylamides. The fluorinated sulfonic acid-type ion exchange resin is preferably the ion exchange resin of the formula [(n) is 6 or 7; (m) is 1-3; (x) is 500-2,000]. In a case of a batch reaction, preferably, 0.2-1.2 mol alcohol and 5-30 g fluorinated sulfonic acid-type ion exchange resin are used based on 1 mol acrylonitrile, and the reaction is carried out at 100-140 deg.C for 6 18 hr. When the reaction temperature is higher than the boiling point of the acrylonitrile, an autoclave is preferably used to prevent vaporization. |
