PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve riding comfort and driving stability with a torsion beam rear suspension. SOLUTION: This rear suspension extends in the longitudinal directions of a vehicle, and has a wheel supporting portion and a suspension damper supporting portion at the rear end thereof, and a trailing arm 1 freely movable in the vertical directions of the vehicle through an elastic bush 2 at the front end thereof. In this case, the elastic bush 2 is placed so that the central axial line thereof extends in the vertical directions of the vehicle. The rear suspension is further configured with an inner cylinder 7, i.e., a mounting portion to a side of the vehicle body, an outer cylinder 8 coaxially aligned to the inner cylinder 7 and fixed to a side of the trailing arm 1, and an elastic object 9 that is pressed in between the inner and outer cylinders 7 and 8. A thinner portion 10, which is thinner than other portions, is formed at a front side portion of the vehicle for the elastic body 9, thereby a spring constant at a vehicle front, (i.e., the thinner portion 10) for the elastic object 9 is reduced to be less than those at other portions. Therefore, improvement of riding comfort and securing of driving stability are achieved. |
