<p>A covering (1) for covering a normally open-topped container (2) having a laterally protruding rim corner (9), the covering including a resiliently stretchable sheet member (11), each corner of the which being provided with a slit (17) substantially diagonally disposed to its associated pair of adjacent side edges, the covering being capable of being stretch fitted over the container whereupon its rim corners protrude through the slits of their associated corners of the covering thereby securing the covering to the container, said covering having a pair of opposite slits for rendering a handle raisable into an operative position. A covering (51) for covering a normally open-topped container (52) with two pairs of opposite side surfaces, the covering including a sheet member (56) and a pair of initially peel-off liner protected adhesive strips (59) disposed adjacent opposite side edges of one of the pair of opposite side edges for adhering to its corresponding pair of opposite side surfaces of the container.
