The brake for an open-end spinning rotor has brake pads moved by a lever against the rotating rotor shaft, which is supported in the gap between rotating disks. The brake pad lining (16) is a compound material containing carbon fibers. The bake pads and linings (16) can be exchanged at the brake levers (9,10).
