CONDITIONING METHOD FOR DEHYDRATING CLARIFICATION SLUDGE

The invention relates to a method for dehydrating clarification sludge in which an acidic oxidative preconditioning is combined with an inorganic subsequent conditioning, whereby the preconditioning involves an acidification of the clarification sludge and a catalytic partial oxidation by adding a hypostoichiometric quantity of hydrogen peroxide and iron ions at a pH-value </=5. Afterwards, an inorganic subsequent conditioning is carried out in which the acidified and partially oxidized clarification sludge is laced with alkaline earth. During the inorganic subsequent conditioning, enough calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2) is added such that the pH-value of the limed clarification sludge ranges from at least 9 to a maximum of 11 in order to accordingly dehydrate the conditioned clarification sludge in a mechanical manner.
