<p>A film wrapping apparatus comprising means (11) for conveying an article (17) resting on a platform (12) along a path that includes a wrapping station (10) and a heat shrink tunnel (13). The wrapping station includes means (15, 16) for supplying heat shrinkable film (14) from above and below the path, so the film (14) is disposed in the path of travel of the article (17) and rests on the platform (12), means (18) for sealing and severing the film (14) behind the article (17) after being wrapped by the film (14). A pick and place apparatus (1) is used for mechanically transferring the article from a feed station and positioning the article (17) atop the film (14) while the film (14) is resting on the platform (12). The transfer of the article is synchronized in response to the position of the platform (12).</p> |
