The silencer (20)has a long vertical expansion chamber into which the exhaust gas from the engine exhaust connection (10) is led. The chamber as a whole is divided into two chambers (31, 32) by a dividing plate (40). The catalytic gas cleaner (50) is fixed to the dividing plate so that the exhaust gas from the exhaust connection goes from the first chamber via the cleaner to the second chamber.
