PURPOSE:To obtain the subject lyase in high yield by carrying out a mixed culture of specific bacteria capable of decomposing alginic acid and collecting the objective alginic acid lyase from the culture liquid. CONSTITUTION:Flavobacterium spiritivorum, Alcaligenes denitrificans and Bacillus laterosporus each having alginic acid decomposing activity are cultured by mixed culture and the objective alginic acid lyase is separated from the culture product. Preferably, the Flavobacterium spiritivorum is Flavobacterium spiritivorum OTC-3, the Alcaligenes denitrificans is Alcaligenes denitrificans OTC-4 and the Bacillus laterosporus is Bacillus laterosporus OTC-5. |
