<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the collision energy when an armature plate is attracted to a roller, and reduce the occurrence of attractive sound by setting the clearance between the armature frictional surface of an electromagnetic clutch and the frictional surface of the rotor uneven to have a specific value or more in all the circumferencial direction. SOLUTION: An electromagnetic clutch for intermittently transmitting power to the compressor of the air conditioner for an automobile is provided with a rotor 6 turned by an engine through a belt, and an armature 9 arranged on the same shaft as the rotor 6, fixed to the compressor main shaft 13 via elastic bodies 18-1, and having an armature plate 10 movable in the axial direction. The rotor 6 and the armature plate 10 are frictionally connected by the electromagnetic force produced by the current carrying to an exciting coil 1. In this case, the clearance between the armature frictional surface 11 and the rotor frictional surface 8 is set uneven to have 0.2μm or more in all the circumferential direction by making the thickness of the armature plate 10 uneven or the like. Thus, the collision connecting time at the time of attraction of the armature plate 10 is prolonged for relieving the collision energy.</p> |
