SUBSTANCE: described in new 6-(substituted methylene)penem of general formula I wherein R is condensed bicyclic heterocyclic system of rings of general formula II wherein m is 2 or 3; p is 0, 1 or 2; and R is hydrogen, salt-forming cation or pharmaceutically acceptable ester hydrolyzable in vivo, symbol =/= shows that double bond is either in E or Z configuration. Described are pharmaceutical composition based on compounds of formula I having beta-lactamase inhibiting activity and method of inhibiting beta- lactamase in treating bacterial infections in man and animals.
