摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing graphite particles, capable of simply producing the graphite particles suitable for a lithium secondary battery having high capacitance and excellent quick charging or discharging characteristics, to provide the graphite particles suitable for the lithium secondary battery having high capacitance and excellent quick charging or discharging characteristics, to provide a graphite paste suitable for the lithium secondary battery having high capacitance and excellent quick charging or discharging characteristics, to provide a cathode for the lithium secondary battery having high capacitance and excellent quick charging or discharging characteristics, and to provide the lithium secondary battery. SOLUTION: This method for producing graphite particles uses an aggregate and a binder as starting raw materials. Therein, acid-treated graphite is used as the aggregate. Graphite particles each having an interstitial distance (d002) of <=3.389 &angst; in the thickness direction by a wide angle X-ray diffraction method is obtained by using the acid-treated graphite as an aggregate. A graphite paste comprises the graphite particles obtained by the above production method or the above graphite particles, an organic binder and a solvent. A cathode for a lithium secondary battery contains the graphite particles obtained by the above production method or the above graphite particles. A cathode for a lithium secondary battery is obtained by integrally coating the graphite paste on an electric collector. A lithium secondary battery has the cathode 2 for the lithium secondary battery and an anode 1.
