METHOD OF DETERMINING PAIRING CAPACITY OF BOMBUS TERRESTRIS KIND OF FEMALE BUMBLEBEES

FIELD: agricultural biology. SUBSTANCE: method involves providing pairing; exposing female bumblebees to carbon dioxide; immobilizing and drawing out sting; detecting, by means of binocular magnifying glass, typical black marks on abdomen side of sting caused by genital male capsule. Method allows fortiori defective and non-impregnated female bumblebees unfit for reproduction to be determined. Paired female bumblebees are directed for forming full-value bumblebee families. EFFECT: increased efficiency by preliminary revealing of unfit female bumblebees. 2 dwg
