Glass panel etc. transfer procedure

Glass panels are transferred from a block of panels to a horizontal transporter. Suckers (2), set close to the conveyor so as to raise the panel once relatively centered, are held in a suction sled (1) and the transport unit with the suctioned panel is moved in rails into a vertical position. The entire unit is then approached to the panel block (6) and the sled (1) there lowered so the panel stands on the horizontal pallet legs or a few mm above these. A measuring device finds the correct height based on pallet input data and so levels the pallet or panel block inclination. The panel is then raised consequently far enough to form an air gap between panel and pallet to lower it onto the preceding panel by venting the bottom suckers. With the panel in place on the pallet, the uppermost suckers are also vented to allow the panel to be laid on the preceding panel. The suction unit consists of two linear units of powered top and bottom suckers and a sled running between two guide rails (3). The sled axes (4,5) are powered individually but in sequence.
