PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an adhesive which is flexible and excellent in adhesive properties and hardly exhibits change in mechanical properties by incorporating a polyoxyalkylene diglycidyl ether, a cationic polymn. catalyst, and an ion exchanger into the same. SOLUTION: This adhesive contains 100 pts.wt. component comprising a polyoxyalkylene diglycidyl ether of the formula (wherein m and n are each 010) alone or a mixture of the diglycidyl ether in an amt. of at least 50 wt.% and an epi-bis type epoxy resin (e.g. a bisphenol A epoxy resin), 1-6 pts.wt. cationic polymn. catalyst (e.g. an arom. diazonium salt), and an ion exchanger (e.g. an ion exchange resin) capable of adsorbing Lewis acid anions released from the catalyst, in an amt. of 2-12 pts.wt. based on 1 pt.wt. catalyst. If necessary, the compsn. may further contain an aliph. polyol (e.g. polyethylene glycol), a filler, a coupling agent, a surfactant, etc. The adhesive starts the curing reaction by the exposure to an energy ray, develops a substantial adhesive strengths within a minute at room temp., and completes the reaction in 2-5 hr. |
