PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an image processing range small for measuring the core misalignment between a right and a left optical fiber, to increase the measurement speed, and to prevent the processing precision from decreasing. SOLUTION: This core aligning method finds the differencesΔL andΔR between upper end positions 28 of both left and right optical fiber images 10 and an approximate straight line 24 in the core center of a core image 20. Then alignment is performed so that the differenceΔbetween the upper end positions 28 in the left and right optical fiber images becomes equal toΔL-ΔR. Then measurement points are reduced to a half compared with those of a conventional method for alignment by directly finding a core position and a method for alignment by finding an eccentricity quantity and the image processing range becomes very small. |
