PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress inclination and ensure sufficient road holding area even if a number of sipes are formed at a block. SOLUTION: A block 18 formed at the tread of a pneumatic tire is formed with a zigzag-shaped sipe 24 extending in the direction B. Small blocks 18a to 18f partitioned by the sipe 24 are formed with B-directional side surfaces inclined alternately in the directions B1, B2. If the pneumatic tire mounted on an actual vehicle is run, it is compressed in the direction C by the tread load F from a tread 26, and the small blokes are deformed alternately in the directions B1, B2. As a result, the irregular parts of the sipe wall surface of the adjacent small blocks are engaged strongly with each other, thus it is possible to suppress inclination of the small block. The inclination of the block is suppressed and a road holding area can be ensured sufficiently utilizing the edge effect of the sipe, thus it is possible to exhibit excellent running performance on an icy or snowy road surface. |
