FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method of packing of flexible compressible article 10 the latter is fitted in pipe made of deformable material 22 with excess material on ends of pipe. First end 24 of pipe is sealed. Then air is evacuated from pipe through second end, thus deforming the pipe around article and making the article compress. Maintaining vacuum in pipe, sealing of second end 24 is carried out. Holding casing 26 is put onto sealed pipe to keep article in compressed state. When unpacking the article, holding casing is removed to let pipe controllably expand by letting air pass into pipe. EFFECT: possibility of making small-size packages, efficient transportation. 9 cl, 3 dwg
