FIELD: manufacture of multipurpose cutting tools, polishing powders and measuring instruments. SUBSTANCE: high-melting titanium compound-based solid alloy comprises as high-melting titanium compound, titanium carbonitride composed of TiC<SB>x</SB>N<SB>y</SB> wherein <EMI ID=0.85 HE=3 WI=66 TI=CHI> and x+y=1, and metallic bond comprises nickel and molybdenum at Ni/Mo=1/6 ratio in amount of 9-12 vol % based on total amount. Solid alloy comprises, as high-melting titanium compound, titanium oxycarbonitride composed of TiC<SB>x</SB>N<SB>y</SB>O<SB>z</SB> wherein <EMI ID=0.86 HE=9 WI=66 TI=CHI>, and x+y+z= 1, and metal bond comprises nickel and molybdenum at Ni/No=1/6 ratio in amount of 9-12 vol % based on total amount. Solid alloy comprises, as high- melting titanium compound, titanium oxycarbonitride composed of Ti<SB>1-m</SB>Me<SB>m</SB>C<SB>x</SB>N<SB>y</SB>O<SB>z</SB>, wherein Me is Zr or V; <EMI ID=0.87 HE=9 WI=63 TI=CHI> and x+y+z=1, and metal bond comprises nickel and molybdenum at Ni/Mo 1/6 ratio in amount of 9-12 vol % based on total amount. Powder-like carbonitride or oxycarbonitride or alloyed oxycarbonitride is mixed with metallic nickel and molybdenum powders. The resulting mixture is subjected to grinding to dispersity of 2-3 ??k. Mixture is then briquetted and sintered. Sintering is carried out at heating and cooling rate of 16-18°/min at pressure of <EMI ID=0.88 HE=6 WI=21 TI=CHI> mm Hg.
