Adaptive call distribution in a telecommunications system comprising configurations of Service Switching Point (SSP) (15; 16) and Service Control Point (SCP) (17; 18) equipment. For back-up purposes the SCP equipment (17; 18) are configured to provide call services to customers (2, 3; 4) allocated to a particular SCP (17; 18).
