The invention relates to an edible hollow container (1), especially an ice cream container, and to a method and a device for producing the same. The walls (2, 3) of the hollow container (1) consist of a piece of curved wafer or similar and have an opening (5) at the top. The hollow container (1) comprises two wide main walls (2) which essentially face each other and which are joined on both sides by more narrow wall areas (3) as well as being joined on the underside, so that the top opening (5) has an essentially elongated shape. The hollow container (1) is produced from a flat piece of wafer (14) which is shaped after baking whilst it is still soft. The wafer is pressed into a hollow mould (9) using a shaping tool (8). The hollow mould (9) can be divided into parts and initially, cannot be closed fully. The wall areas of the hollow container (1) are then pressed against the shaping tool (8) as the hollow mould (9) closes fully. |
