The input system contains an input device (4) for the entry and change of data using and in conjunction with a display device (3), whereby the input device can influence a display element displayed in the display region (31). The display element has a first region (33-A) which interacts with the input device for positioning the display element. The display element has a second region (33-B) which interacts with the input device for triggering the detection of data for the construction element defined by this region. A third region (33-C) which interacts with the input device extends up to the second region and is used to change the size of the second region. A fourth region set (33-D1, etc.) is used to change the orientation of the second region. The third and fourth regions can be arranged in a star formation about the first region.
