The cork screw (1) has a housing (2) and two tabs (3, 4) detachably connected thereto. Upon pressing down of the cork screw over the lip (25) of a bottle, the tabs (3, 4) form a snap closure with said lip. For this purpose, projections (16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23) are provided on the lower ends of the tabs. A rotating part (5), disposed on a holding pin of the cork screw, is connected to a spiral piece (6). By turning the rotating part (5), the cork is pulled up out of the mouth of the bottle. Two holding edges (12, 27) disposed in the housing prevent the cork from turning. The cork screw is suitable for pulling corks out of bottles having different-sized necks. The placement of the lower part of the housing always remains straight on the bottle, and the tabs always center the bottle in the middle, far optimal placement of the spiral piece, independently of the size of the bottle lip.
