Bio-filter for fitting in a water drainage system shaft

A bio-filter is in the form of a removable unit inserted into a mounting ring (1) which remains in a drainage system shaft. A bio-filter, for fitting in drainage system shaft and comprising a drain water collection funnel and an adjoining filter, is in the form of a removable unit of a filter upper part (7) and a filter housing (13) inserted directly into a mounting ring (1) which remains in the shaft. An Independent claim is also included for method of producing the bio-filter, in which the filter housing (13), the filter upper part (7), a lid (9) and the mounting ring (1) are molded from plastic. Preferred Features: The mounting ring (1) has support projections (2) for seating on shaft shoulder and has inner flange (4) for supporting inner seal (8), on which the filter upper part (7) seats. A lid (9) is fitted in the filter upper part (7) and has a drain hole (10) aligned with a drain opening (11) in the filter upper part (7).
