The invention relates to a method and a device for influencing ink distribution in the transfer roller system of printing machines. The invention aims at providing a method and a device for rapidly influencing ink distribution in printing machines. According to the invention, this is accomplished by a method comprising the following steps: driving the ink duct roller at maximum speed; driving the printing machine in such a way that the distributing roller rotates at the speed of the ink duct roller; producing a constant interaction between the ink duct roller, the ductor roller and the distributing roller; stopping the drive mechanism of the transfer roller; closing the ink fountain; conveying excess ink from the transfer roller system to the ink fountain; changing the speed of the ink duct roller and the printing machine; returning to the original function of the transfer roller.
