Ski boot and binding combination

The ski boot retaining body (2) is fixed to the ski. The body has a housing (5) containing a spring (6). In the rear face are two support zones (7,8) against which the spring applies a retaining jaw (9). The rear end of the spring is supported against a wall (11) and its front end is supported against a plug (12), sliding inside a housing. The plug is connected to the jaw by a tie rod (13). The boot front has a ferrule connecting to the jaw. This ferrule is in two parts, a lower sole part (20) and an upper ankle part (21). The ferrule has a local asymmetry (26) which is in relief or hollow in front of the boot sole. There is a relief or hollow dissymmetry in front of the boot ankle. The jaw contains a retaining boss (32) which fits in the asymmetrical zone so that the boot can be freed more easily from one side than the other. The boss is held by return springs (34,35) independent of the jaw.
