Substituted heteroaromatic compounds of formula (I) wherein X is N or CH; Y is CR<1> and V is N; or Y is N and V is CR<1>; or Y is CR<1> and V is CR<2>; or Y is CR<2> and V is CR<1>; R<1> represents a group Q-M-, wherein M is a C1-4 alkylene group in which any carbon atom, other than a carbon atom immediately adjacent the group Q, may be replaced by an oxygen or sulphur atom or by a group NR<6>; or wherein M is a C5 alkylene group in which any carbon atom, other than a carbon atom immediately adjacent the group Q, may be replaced by an oxygen or sulphur atom or by a group NR<6>.
