A grass cover improvement apparatus has a hollow frame 2 with support legs 3, the frame 2 bearing a light source 6 effective to provide growing light to bodies of plant material when present beneath said frame 2. This provides a mobile artificial lighting means which can be moved to particular areas of grass on a sports field so that the grass growth can be promoted in places that receive the most wear when in service. The light source 6 may be mounted on a motor driven carriage which can move position on the frame 2. The frame 2 may be collapsible and be mounted on wheels 4. There may be a time clock to control periods of illumination. |
