PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition capable of manifesting excellent sterilizing effects and deodorant effects on a kitchen, a toilet, etc., and easily carrying out the microbial removal and sterilization after usual washing of hands by including ethanol and an extract from Glycyrrhiza glabra var. glandulifera Regel et Herder therein. SOLUTION: This composition contains ethanol and an extract from Glycyrrhiza glabra var. glandulifera Regel et Herder. When the composition is used in a kitchen, fermented ethanol is preferred. A denaturant may be added to the ethanol. Flavor H-No. 13 for foods is preferred as a denaturant when using the composition in the kitchen. An extract extracted with water and usable as a food additive is preferred as the extract from the Glycyrrhiza glabra var. glandulifera Regel et Herder. The composition is preferably prepared by formulating 40-60 wt.% ethanol with 0.001-0.01 wt.% extract from the Glycyrrhiza glabra var. glandulifera Regel et Herder. The pH of the resultant composition is preferably 4.5-7.5. Besides water such as purified water, a preservative, an antioxidant, an ultraviolet light absorber and the like can be formulated in the composition. |
