PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a time required for cell search without increasing the scale of a circuit in a receiver for a code division multiple access(CDMA) cellular system that distinguishes cells based on types of spread codes. SOLUTION: A base band signal obtained by applying base band frequency conversion to a CDMA signal is given to a plurality of correlation devices 100, where each signal is correlated with a reference code generated from each code generating section 101, and a resulting output is given to a selector section 103. At the selector section 103, the output signal is given to a plurality of notification channel demodulation sections 104 or a plurality of demodulation sections 105 for a speech channel are selected based on a control signal from a control section 102. The output of the notification channel demodulation section is processed by a signal processing section 107 and its result is given to the control section 102. An output of the demodulation section for a speech channel is given to a symbol synthesis section 106, where rake synthesis is conducted, with its resulting signal processed. Part or all of the correlation devices are used for collecting notification channel information or used for path demodulation for rake synthesis is selected properly by the control section. |
