PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject cleaning liquid at a low running cost due to no necessity for installing wastewater treating equipment without contaminating a conveying device such as a conveyor and excellent in sterilizing properties and detergency by using an alkaline liquid prepared by electrolyzing saline water. SOLUTION: This cleaning liquid comprises an alkaline liquid (preferably at pH >=10) prepared by electrolyzing saline water. For example, a saline solution obtained by adding a very small amount (0.05-0.1%) of common salt to tap water is electrolyzed with an electrolytic device to provide a colorless, transparent and alkaline liquid containing 160 mg/L sodium, 140 mg/L chloride ions, 16 mg/L calcium, magnesium or the like at pH >=11 and having <=-800 mV oxidation reduction potential on the cathode side. The objective cleaning liquid is suitable for use in a plant for carrying with a conveyor handling foods. |
