PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the user to reserve a desired program even in a stage that desired program information is not registered in a program guide. SOLUTION: An event information table EIT packet relating to a program guide is extracted from broadcast data outputted from a promotion transponder and stored in a DRAM 32. The EIT for one week, for example that is received at a present point of time is stored in the DRAM 32. When the operator enters a desired channel and a desired time zone, a CPU 28 compares received data with the program guide, that is, the EIT. When the EIT relating to the entered data is not in existence in the DRAM 32, the CPU 28 stores the input data to a tentative reservation table. Then the tentative reservation table is compared with the program guide and when the EIT relating to the received data is detected, a broadcast program to be regularly reserved is discriminated and reserved.
