摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To decrease the wasteful initializing processing by considering the distribution of an effective coefficient at respective quantizing coefficient matrixes of two continuous blocks concerning a reverse quantizing method when an original image is restored from code data by an orthogonal converting system. CONSTITUTION:In a reverse quantizing method to obtain the coefficient matrix from a quantizing coefficient obtained by decoding the code data by an orthogonal converting coding system, at the quantizing coefficient matrix respectively corresponding to respective blocks and the block before them, the difference of the distribution of the effective coefficient having a value except zero is discriminated, the quantizing threshold respectively corresponding to the effective coefficient included in the quantizing coefficient matrix corresponding to respective blocks is multiplied, and the reverse quantizing is selectively performed. The obtained reverse quantizing result is respectively held in accordance with the effective coefficient address, the initializing processing to the equivalent address is performed in accordance with the difference of the distribution of the effective coefficient with the previous block and the coefficient matrix corresponding to respective blocks is restored.</p>
