FIELD: shipbuilding; motorships. SUBSTANCE: motorship includes hull, living space, wheelhouse and motor room with two power plants inside it; shafts of power plants are connected with propeller through reduction gear. One power plant is made in form of pneumostatic engine whose housing has hermetic compartment where rotor provided with special passages is mounted. Rotor is connected with output shaft of engine via hermetic device for transmission of rotation from one side of medium to other; rotor is kinematically linked with control mechanism. hermetic compartment of hull is connected with high-pressure compressed air bottles through shut-off fittings. When compressed air is fed inside hermetic compartment, rotor is set in rotation under action of static pressure of air on bottom of each passage. Power and rotational speed of output shaft of engine may be changed through closing or opening part of passages. EFFECT: enhanced service properties of motorship. 4 cl, 14 dwg
