PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for liquid crystal oriented film enabling improvement in irregularity in the vicinity of a filling port by an addition method, a manufacturing method of liquid crystal oriented film, a liquid crystal oriented film obtained from this composition, a liquid crystal holding substrate and a liquid crystal display element which have this oriented film. SOLUTION: A composition for liquid crystal oriented film formed by containing a compound containing (1) polyimide resin or its precursor and (2) two or more carboxyl groups, a manufacturing method of a liquid crystal oriented film by which after applying the above composition for liquid crystal oriented film onto the surface having an electrode of a liquid crystal holding substrate formed thereon, a polyimide layer is formed by drying, dehydrating, and ring-closing, and then processed with rubbing, and electrodes are provided on the liquid crystal holding substrate having the liquid crystal oriented film and on the side facing the liquid crystal on the liquid crystal holding substrate, and thus, the oriented film obtained from the composition for liquid crystal oriented film is formed on the substrate and the electrodes. |
