A high-performance thermoelectric converter comprising a first conductor of heat (1), a second conductor of heat (2) shaped in a block and connected with the first conductor (1) at a predetermined position, a plastic frame (6) surrounding the second conductor (2), a heat-conducting substrate (5), which fixedly supports the proximal end (8) of the frame (6) and holds thermoelectric elements (4) inside the frame, and a heat-insulating layer (31) interposed between the first conductor (1) and the substrate (5) to surround the frame (6). The second conductor (2) and the substrate (5) are opposed in close contact with each other with the thermoelectric elements (4) placed between them. The second conductor (2) and the frame (6) are provided with projections (12 and 9), respectively, which are engaged with each other to prevent the second conductor (2) from displacement toward the first conductor (1).
