Float controlled valve of the equilibrium type has a flexible diaphragm (38) coacting with a valve seat (32) to shut off inflow and carrying an apertured insert (42) with a slow bleed monitary pin (44), water pressure on opposite sides of the diaphragm being kept substantially in equilibrium so that when a lever mounted float (58) drops a bleed aperture unseats the diaphragm by a small change in pressure differential; an upstream filter (28), the seat, the diaphragm, and a locating cover (24) all snap fitting together to form a single unit to be inserted and removed from a main body (10).
