Method of adapting the internal structures of a steam generator

The procedure consists of inserting a first tool through an inspection port (9) in the outer envelope (2) of the steam generator (1). It is inserted into the upper part (4) of the envelope containing the pipe bank (3). The tool is used to form a passage (16) through the envelope for a second tool, which is used to cut away sections of the pipes in the bank and of spacer plates (6,6a) to make a channel (15) for the insertion of maintenance equipment.
