<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a punching mark printing method for an image forming apparatus for making the punching marks indicated at specified positions on printing paper. SOLUTION: A method for printing punching marks with an image forming apparatus connected to a host computer includes a stage (S301) that converts data corresponding to one page out of data on application program in the host computer into printing data and put the converted data into storage, a stage (S302) that discriminates yes or no on enabling punching marks to be formed on a page-setting menu of a printer, a stage that receives the punching mark data into page-setting menu data when the punching marks are enabled, a stage (S304) that converts the received data into printing data, a stage (S305) that adds punching mark printing data to printing data for one page in storage, a stage (S306) that discriminates whether or not conversion into printing data is made for necessary number of pages, and a stage (S307) that transmits the printing data from the host computer to the image forming apparatus when conversion into printing data is made for necessary number of pages. Thereby, as punching marks are printed anew on the printing data when printing is made for documents made up by a computer, punching can be made easily at desired positions on binding printed matters by a user after the printing.</p> |
