PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the unevenness in the toner concentration of a developer in the case that the unevenness of the toner concentration locally generates in a developer container in which an image having a great change in the concentration is formed in a developing device for developing a latent image formed on an image carrier with the developer. SOLUTION: This developing device is provided with a container 3 for housing a developer, a developer carrier 8 which is freely rotatably supported in the container 3, a part of which is exposed to the outside from an opening part 7 and holds the developer in the container to carry the developer to a developing region facing the image carrier, a magnet 9 disposed inside the developer carrier 8 and a layer thickness regulating member 10 regulating the layer thickness of the developer held on the developer carrier. In such a case, the carrying angle of the developer carrier for carrying the developer from a position facing the layer thickness regulating member 83 to the developing region 84 and holding the center of the rotation of the developer carrier is made to >=150 deg., this carrying range is made long and the developer is stirred during the long carrying to reduce the unevenness in the concentration of the developer. |
