Temperature measuring unit for remotely measuring surface temperature

The unit has a support structure with an infrared sensor (1400) located on it. The sensor has a detector with infrared radiation emitted from an energy zone along an axis passing onto it. A light beam splitter assembly on the support structure has a diffraction beam splitter (1405) which splits an incident light (1403) beam into an array of light spots towards the energy zone to outline it.
