PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light emitting device which can generate uniform luminescence. SOLUTION: In a light incident surface 21 of a light guide plate 2 a linear light source 3 is installed opposingly, and a reflex sheet 5 is arranged in such a way as enwrapping the light source 3 and the light incident surface 21 of light guide plate, and an optical sheet 8 is arranged on the light emitting surface 22 of the light guide plate 2. These are arranged in a case 4 being located therein, wherein that edge of the optical sheet 8 positioned on the side with light source 3 is located inner than the edge of the opening 43 in the case 4, and one end 51 of a reflex sheet 5 positioned on the side with the light emitting surface 22 is fixed to an overhang 44 formed on the case. The one end 51 of reflex sheet 5 is arranged so as to cover the gap 9 formed between the edge of the case opening 43 and the edge of optical sheet 8 on its side with light source 3. |
