PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil solution of a hydrophobic compound for photograph with controlled degradation deterioration of an active principle of the hydrophobic compound, preparation thereof, and an oil-in-water type emulsion with reduced drop of the active principle of the hydrophobic compound. SOLUTION: This invention provides an oil solution of a hydrophobic compound for photograph in which a powder of the hydrophobic compound having 300μm or less of mean particle size is dissolved into an oil phase liquid without using a cosolvent substantially, a preparation thereof, and an oil-in-water type emulsion in which the oil solution of the hydrophobic compound is emulfiedly dispersed into an aqueous solution. The oil solution prepared by the oil solution preparing method is excellent in solubility, and is hardly degradation- deteriorated. The oil-in-water type emulsion containing the oil solution exibits no degradation deterioration of an active principle of the hydrophobic compound, and has excellent stability along the lapse of time.
