PROTECTOR FOR LAYING WIRE HARNESS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protector for laying a wire harness wherein the wire harness an be held fixedly and surely in a recessed groove without increasing number of part items, by eliminating differences due to variations of their outer diameters and their specifications. SOLUTION: A protector 11 for laying a wire harness 12 is formed out of a long plate body obtained by forming a lenghty material in a spiral form. Winding the protector 11 around the outer periphery of the wire harness 12, it is mounted in a recessed groove 13 for laying therein the wire harness 12 to hold fixedly the wire harness 12. Since the protector 11 is so distorted when squeezing it into the groove 13 for laying therein the wire harness 12 as to match its dimension to the one of the groove 13, generating a reactive force from its distortional stiffness, the protector 11 is held in the state of adhering it to the wire harness 12 and the inner surface of the groove 13 to make possible the proper support of the wire harness 12.
