PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend an apparent color area by visual characteristics or optical illusion by simple method or constitution in the case of converting input images into output images within a prescribed color range. SOLUTION: The image part out of the prescribed color range G of the input images is compressed into the prescribed color range G. The difference of the input images and images after compression is obtained and a space filtering processing for simulating visual side suppression is applied to the difference. Based on the filtering processing result, the color coordinate of the non- compressed image part of the input images is corrected. As the output images, the images after the compression are taken out for the image part E exceeding the prescribed color range G of the input images and the images after correction by the filtering processing result are taken out for the image part not exceeding the prescribed color range G. When the output images are observed, the images are perceived while extending the apparent color area by the visual side suppression. |
