PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the productivity of an encoder by making possible the use of the same encoder in various motors, without replacing the encoder itself or the board thereof. SOLUTION: A required position detecting signal is obtained, even of a pole detecting magnet 2b is replaced by one having different number of poles without altering the arrangement of magnetic detection elements 3, 4 and 5, by performing a specified signal operation with respect to the detected signal from the pole detecting magnet 2b through a detection signal switching circuit 11. |
