The switch has a first fixed part (12) to be fitted into the steering column and a coaxial movable part for a fixed rotation connection with the vehicle steering wheel. The second part is rotatable relative to the first by means of a locking arrangement. This has an elastic locking member (44) in the form of a bolt. The locking member extends radially into a locking recess of the fixed part (12). An actuating lever (32) is pivotally mounted on the movable part. A ramp part (54) can cooperate with part of the steering wheel to lower the bolt (44). The pivot axis of the lever is radially movable relative to the movable part.
